Overview

RoviSys, a Premier-Certified Inductive Automation Ignition Systems Integrator, is looking for talented engineers passionate about industrial digitalization and manufacturing technology. In this role, you will work with customers to design, configure, deploy, and commission Ignition-based SCADA, MES, and / or data collection solutions that connect manufacturing operations with business objectives.

 

You will be responsible for translating customer requirements into scalable, high-performance solutions while supporting all phases of project execution, from design through startup and commissioning. Experience with Ignition, industrial automation systems,

manufacturing operations, and related software platforms is highly desirable.

Responsibilities

  • Define and implement Ignition SCADA systems; create and maintain clear documentation describing solution design and implementation
  • Partner with customers and RoviSys functional analysts to define functional requirements using modern iterative approaches
  • Break down work into technical tasks consumable by our developers and configurators and oversee task completion
  • Testing and on-site commissioning of control systems
  • Travel to customer sites to perform requirement gathering, deployment, and post-deployment support
  • Work in team environment with engineers and designers from RoviSys, partners and clients to provide state of the art Control Systems to improve efficiency, product quality, and profitability of process manufacturing
  • Apply modern software engineering practices (CI/CD, infrastructure as code, automated testing) to manage deployments
  • Provide mentorship and leadership to less experienced engineers, fostering a culture of technical growth and innovation
  • Explore and apply emerging technologies, including frontier agentic AI and LLM-based automation, to improve efficiency, quality, and scalability

Qualifications

  • 2+ years of configuration experience within Ignition platform
  • Ability to work in the Eastern Time Zone
  • Demonstrates the ability to perform technical responsibilities
  • Communicate effectively and professionally with both customers and colleagues to present new ideas, accomplish challenging goals, and solve problems
  • Thorough understanding of control system design and coding
  • Self-motivated, excellent communication skills, and enjoy working with people
  • Hands-on Ignition implementation experience including:
    • Connectivity to shop floor data sources and historians
    • Integration with enterprise systems such as ERP and PLM
    • T-SQL query and stored procedure development
    • Client display and web report configuration
    • Modern web-based UI configuration and deployment
  • Ability to integrate new software modules with existing systems
  • Demonstrated adaptability and curiosity to explore emerging approaches such as AI, low-code/no-code integration, and iterative requirement definition

Desired Qualifications:

  • B.S. in Electrical, Chemical Engineering or Engineering Technology
  • B.S. in Computer Science or Engineering
  • Working knowledge of common communication protocols and Ignition SCADA
  • Understanding of batch or continuous process control
  • Network design/administration
  • PLC or DCS Integration
  • Historian Integration
  • Experience working with any of the following applications is a plus:
    • MQTT/OPC UA
    • Ignition Edge Panel
    • SQL
    • Sepasoft
