Overview

RoviSys is seeking a Lead Functional Analyst to play a pivotal role in the delivery of holistic MES solutions for manufacturers across a wide range of industries. This role supports solution areas including Production Management, Directed Work, Quality, Traceability, Maintenance Management, and Performance. Extending beyond traditional requirement gathering, you will help define, structure, configure, and validate digital manufacturing solutions by translating operational needs into clear solution definitions that support both current-state operations and future-state objectives.

Functional Analysts are central to RoviSys’ delivery methodology, leading and contributing to Integrated Process Mapping (IPM) activities that capture process intent, decision logic, and system interactions. In addition to solution definition, this role plays a hands-on part in system configuration, master data design, testing, and post-deployment support, ensuring solutions are not only well-designed but effectively realized in live manufacturing environments.

We work with leading manufacturers in semiconductors, life sciences, discrete manufacturing, consumer goods, and specialty chemicals, industries operating at the forefront of operational and technological complexity. Our mission is to help these customers improve efficiency, reliability, and quality through well-designed, practical digital execution solutions.

Rather than relying on rigid, upfront specifications, our methodology emphasizes collaborative discovery, progressive refinement, and continuous validation. Functional Analysts work closely with customers to understand existing workflows, identify improvement opportunities, and define scalable, high-impact MES solutions aligned with future-state manufacturing strategies.

Responsibilities

  • Decompose manufacturing processes and workflows into clear, structured operational models
  • Collaborate with customers and RoviSys project teams to define and refine to-be business processes and operational workflows, leveraging our Integrated Process Mapping (IPM) methodology to capture process intent, decision flows, and system interactions
  • Develop well-structured user stories and associated acceptance criteria that guide solution design, configuration, and validation based on functional knowledge of the MES platform being leveraged
  • Serve as a key liaison between customer stakeholders and technical delivery teams, ensuring alignment and shared understanding
  • Support solution realization through hands-on configuration of MES and low-code / no-code platforms
  • Lead and support master data definition activities, ensuring solutions are grounded in accurate operational models
  • Lead and contribute to testing efforts, including definition of validation scenarios and expected system outcomes
  • Help define success criteria and validation conditions for workflows, transactions, and user interactions
  • Facilitate workshops, solution reviews, and validation discussions with customers
  • Create and maintain documentation supporting solution functionality, configuration, and long-term sustainability
  • Support training, user adoption, and post-deployment hypercare activities, often within live manufacturing environments
  • Participate in continuous improvement efforts across projects and delivery practices
  • Demonstrate a willingness to explore and contribute to next-generation, AI-enabled automation toolsets supporting process definition, solution configuration, and testing

Qualifications

  • 4+ years of experience in MES, manufacturing operations, industrial automation, or related consulting roles
  • Strong ability to understand and model manufacturing processes and workflows
  • Experience defining user stories, acceptance criteria, or structured solution definitions
  • Experience supporting system configuration or deployment activitiesFamiliarity with MES concepts such as production workflows, quality processes, traceability, and performance monitoring
  • Strong verbal communication and facilitation skills, including the ability to lead workshops, drive discussions, and translate between business and technical stakeholdersClear and concise written communication skills, with the ability to produce structured, high-quality documentation
  • Strong organizational discipline and attention to detail, particularly when managing requirements, decisions, and system behaviors across complex workflows
  • Ability to manage, prioritize, and progressively refine requirements in alignment with project objectives and operational constraints
  • Ability to balance competing priorities while maintaining focus on practical, achievable solution outcomes
  • Analytical mindset with strong structured problem-solving abilities
  • Ability to manage ambiguity, adapt to evolving project conditions, and progressively refine solution definitions
  • Bachelor’s Degree in an engineering or related technical field
  • Ability to work across customer sites, teams, and time zones

Preferred Experience:

  • Prior Functional Analyst, Business Analyst, or consulting experience
  • Experience with MES or manufacturing platforms such as Parsec TrakSYS, Critical Manufacturing MES, Tulip, Rockwell Plex, Apprentice Tempo, Inductive Ignition, Aveva, GE Vernova Plant Applications, or similar systems
  • Experience participating in system configuration, validation, or deployment cycles
  • Exposure to modern / agile solution delivery environments
  • Lean manufacturing or Six Sigma familiarity
